It’s all home-run plumbing in PEX from each fixture back to this distribution manifold. While running the pipes this way does use more pipe and take more time, it has some significant advantages in serviceability and efficiency. You don’t have to run large diameter pipe to service many fixtures, so each one gets a properly sized pipe. This saves energy, water, and gives you hot water faster to each fixture.
